With its seven faculties, two schools and  School of Foreign Languages, EMU offers high quality education to  over 15,000 students. The university has evolved and expanded to a significant extent over the twenty-seven years that have elapsed since its establishment, and thus taken its rightful place among the best universities in the region.

All 66 programs are accredited by Higher Education Council of Turkey (YOK) and they are also fully accredited by the Higher Education Councils and Ministries of Lebanon, Jordan, Pakistan, Iran, Sudan, Palestine and United Arab Emirates. The graduates of EMU are accepted into the graduate programs of many distinguished universities around the world, including those in Turkey, USA, Canada, UK and other European Countries.

Eastern Mediterranean University is a full member of the European University Association (EUA) which is the main voice of the higher education community in Europe. The EUA creates many opportunities for universities in research, education and services to the society by allowing them to act as part of the European academic community.




 

EMU offers a wide range of undergraduate programs leading to Bachelor’s degree, in engineering, the natural sciences, computer science, business studies, international relations, architecture, law, Turkish language and literature, communication and media studies, and English language and literature. Most departments offer programs of advanced study leading to Master’s and Ph.D. degrees.

Applicants for admission to EMU’s undergraduate programs are required to be graduates of a secondary school or its equivalent. Students who are admitted, but lacking the necessary proficiency in English are required to enter an intensive English program in the EMU Preparatory School.

Life at EMU is relaxed, pleasant and comfortable. Students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities both on and off campus. There are numerous student clubs and societies at EMU that offer a wide range of activities including tennis, basketball, scuba diving, volleyball, football, handball, cricket, climbing, chess, ceramics, journalism, art, science and culture, literature, folklore, drama and animation, music, cinema, and photography.


 

 

 

 

At GAU we believe that students learn better when they enjoy their environment and surroundings. That is why we offer a full program of activities and facilities in the kno knowledge that it will provide opportunities for cross-cultural socialization and individual growth. Academic year begins with an opening week of festivities that include various activities by students. Orientation programs converting academic, local surroundings and campus life are presented within these activities.

 

 

 

 

 The European University of Lefke was founded by the Cyprus Science Foundation in 1989 and opened in 1990. Our University provides a unique intellectual and cultural environment in the Lefke region located in the north-west of Cyprus.

There are two main visions of The European University of Lefke. The first is to make the institute a “European University” offering a diploma that meets worldwide standards; secondly, is to continue focusing on quality education and student satisfaction without making concessions on quality. In other words, it is not to produce an influx of an unemployed graduate group, neither foreseen by the global market nor needed by the economy, but instead to endorse an educational philosophy based on qualitative competency

Applicants should hold a “SECONDARY SCHOOL CERTIFICATE (HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA which is equivalent to HIGHER EDUCATION CERTIFICATE) based on a minimum of 12 years of schooling t private or state schools, Higher Secondary School Certificate or Senior School Certificate or successful completion of recognized pre-tertiary or foundation programme approved by the related overseas authorities with overall grade point average of at least 50% such as or 5 out of 10, or 10 out of 20 etc.

Social and Cultural Life in EUL;
Every year, Spring Festivals are organized as an anual tradition at the  European University of Lefke. In these festivals the students of the university are aimed to have social and cultural activities with solidarity between students and staff members.  Among the activities that are held during Spring Session, there is also the organization of  International Student’s Week. 

 

 

 

 

METU was invited by the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot states to establish an international campus on Northern Cyprus to serve not only the Turkish students but also the international community. METU Northern Cyprus Campus (NCC) is a major investment project financed by the state and it enjoys the full academic and administrative support of METU. With its excellent facilities, exceptionally qualified faculty, and highest international standards in teaching, research and community service, METU NCC offers internationally accepted degree programs in engineering and economic and administrative sciences.

Students who have graduated from high schools, lyceums or equivalent institutions and who satisfy the application criteria may apply for undergraduate programs in Middle East Technical University, Northern Cyprus Campus. There are a predetermined number of places for foreign applicants for each of the undergraduate programs of METU NCC. Applicants must not hold the nationality of Republic of Turkey or the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, to be eligible for admission within the quota allocated for international students. (Dual nationality is not accepted either).

METU Northern Cyprus Campus is built on an area of 3000 decares, which could hold 1100 soccer stadiums inside. METU NCC is approximately 50 km west of Lefkoşa (Nicosia), 25 km southwest of Girne (Kyrenia), 6 km north of Güzelyurt (Morphou), a charming town with a population of 12,000. METU NCC’s student-instructor ratio is 1/10. The students form a close nit community with a faculty members and administrators. Easy access to instructors promotes outside-the-class learning. In addition to its state of the art education and lab facilities, METU NCC, as an e-University, offers all the amenities of high-tech information services, such as digital library, wide spread access to computing, high speed internet and cable TV.

 

 

 

  

 

 

 

 The University was established in 1997. It is an ambitious and innovative institution providing for its students a center of excellence with distinction. With all its academic and social activities, the primary commitment of the University is to provide educational facilities to satisfy the needs of a modern technological society.

Thus, whilst these needs are broadly provided, CIU has developed a deliberate policy of making its courses practical and relevant. CIU emphasizes individual attention and care for its students. With its outstanding international academic staff, CIU is concerned particularly with the quality of its teaching, the employability of its graduates and the application of its research expertise for the benefit of the community. Internationally accredited programs, a dedicated faculty and a modern campus attract students from around the world.

1.                       For Undergraduate programs, students should have Higher Secondary Certificate, Lyceum Diploma or the equivalent (12 years of education).

2.                       For Graduate programs, students should hold 4 years Bachelor’s Degree.

3.                       The medium of instruction is English for all the programs except the “Turkish Literature” and “Turkish Language Teaching” programs. With 500 TOEFL or 5,5 IELTS scores, students can directly enrol in the departments. The ones who do not have these scores, take the proficiency test, and have to follow the courses of the preparatory program, if the test result is not adequate.

The campus is only five kilometres from Lefkoşa (Nicosia, the capital), fifty kilometres from Gazimağusa (Famagusta) and thirty kilometres from Girne (Kyrenia). The campus has been conceived as a university village rather than a group of academic buildings.

Residence Halls: All new students are expected to live in the university residence during their first year at CIU. The residence halls are within walking distance of the classroom buildings and the Student Centre.

There are two types of halls on campus; Dormitory Type and Studio Type where students find a quiet environment to study and live.

Facilities in Campus: Laundry facilities, Dining Facilities, Student Union, Shuttle Services, Sports and Recreation Centre, The Library, International Student Office, Counselling Centre, Health Centre, Career Services.

 

 

 

 

 

Near East University (NEU) is an international private institute of higher education founded in Nicosia-North Cyprus in 1988.The main objective of this institution is to give students a sound education and bring them up as confident and responsible individuals with creative and inquisitive minds. Today Near East University consists of a select student population of 15,700 coming from 51 different countries around the world; hence its international identity. NEU with its ample educational facilities and academically highly qualified staff from 25 different countries is the first institution of higher education in Nicosia, the capital city of North Cyprus, rendering quality education.

NEU is accredited by the Higher Education Council in Turkey, and enjoys worldwide recognition. NEU is also a full member of the International Association of Universities (IAU), the European Universities Association (EUA) and the Federation of the Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW).

Undergraduate Level:
High School Certificate issued by the authorised body at the country citizenship or the country of residence.
The following documents are required for registration;

·                          Original attested copy of the high school certificate.

·                          6 passport size photographs.

·                          Photocopy of the passport.

·                          A reference letter from the high school last attended.

·                          A bank reference letter.

·                          The official copy of the transcript (for transfer students only).

·                          Attested copy of the exam result that is being used for application (SAT -1, GCE, ACT, Tawjihi, Baccalaureate etc).

-Graduate Level: (Master’s Degree)

-Postgraduate Level: (PhD Degree)

There are 15 dormitory buildings in total, 14 of which are situated on campus and 1 in the city of Nicosia.  Nine of these blocks accommodate male students and the remaining six are for female students.  Rooms are arranged to facilitate one, two, three and four students sharing.  The total capacity is 3,500 beds.
